Princess Anna's Story

Princess Anna is named appropriately. First to find a plush dog bed or fluffy pillow for a nap, she may have some royalty in her DNA! She is a little lower key than her littermates, preferring the finer things over rough and tumble play. Her favorites are her people: snuggling and spending time together make her day complete. She is a Lab, Husky and Beagle mix born in rescue on March 14. From day one, she has been cherished and loved.

In her foster home, Anna has been exposed to cats, kids, and other dogs. She’s been on adventures in the car and met lots of different people. She crates nicely, and with a later evening potty break, she sleeps through the night in the crate! She has a head start on potty training and loves to come running full tilt when called.

Anna currently weighs about 11# and will be the perfect size for accompanying her people everywhere. She wants to take obedience classes to learn nice manners and bond with her people. She needs to learn all things puppy: walking nicely on leash, seeing new sights and sounds, and experiencing the world. Ongoing socialization will ensure she can lead the life she was meant to.

The best fit for Anna is a moderately active family who sees a dog as a 4-legged family member. They are want to give her a life befitting her genteel persona - she wants to go and do lots of different things. Her family can provide potty breaks every 2-3 hours at her young age.

Anna would prefer a friendly canine sibling in her new home to be a mentor and role model. She would love a fenced yard to play in, or could live in a family that knows how to keep dogs safe on leash. Children old enough to understand how to redirect her puppy teeth are a good fit. Princess Anna can’t wait to meet her forever family!

APPLY to adopt her at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt

Princess Anna is being fostered in Zimmerman, MN.

Anna's adoption fee is $550 + MN sales tax (this includes her spay). She is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. She will be spayed and microchipped at the age of roughly 6 months. The cost of this procedure is included in her adoption fee. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Mama Oreo is available for adoption, as are her puppies Princess Anna, Elsa, Blizzard, Snowy, Sleet, Slick and Flurry. Heart of a Border Collie Rescue's Adoption Policy
Please read 'Do You Have What It Takes' on our website (www.hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt) before applying to adopt a dog through our rescue. You may also find information about Border Collies helpful (www.hoabcr.org/border-collie-info). Steps in our adoption process include: 1) Filling out an application. Taking this step indicates you are truly interested in adopting a dog - it is not binding. 2) If your application meets the requirements for the dog you're interested in, it will be screened through an initial interview with one of our volunteers. If your application does not meet the requirements, you will not be contacted. 3) If we determine your home could be a good fit for one of our dogs, we will complete reference and vet checks, and set up a home visit, which may occur in person or virtually. 4) If approved, details about your application are sent to the foster that has the dog that you're interested in. If the foster feels you are a match for their foster dog, they will call you to talk in detail about the dog, and possibly move to an in-person meeting. Meetings are allowed AFTER applications are fully approved as described above. 5) If that dog is not deemed to be a good match, we may suggest another dog for you, or your application will be kept on file for a potential future dog. 6) Adoption is complete with payment and a signed adoption contract. Our adoption fees are specified in individual Petfinder listings. The fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm and Lyme tests, rabies & distemper & Bordetella vaccinations (if old enough). Our dogs go to their new homes with a collar, harness, leash, rescue ID tag, starter food, toys and blanket. We are required to charge appropriate MN sales tax.
