Prince's Story

MBR holds monthly adoption events on the 2nd Saturday of every month at Tractor Supply in Columbia Station, 24100 Royalton Road from 11 am - 2 pm. Questions can be emailed to rescue@mbrohio.com

Prince is a 1-year-old Whippet mix weighing in at a perfect 34 pounds of playful, loyal love. This handsome boy is the full package — sweet, smart, athletic, and happiest when he’s close to his people.

Prince is potty trained and crate trained, and he already knows sit and stay. He loves to play fetch (and yes — he actually brings the ball back!) and enjoys tug sessions and chewing on a good Nylabone. He also loves romping around with other dogs and would likely thrive in a home with a playful canine companion. Prince hasn’t met kids or cats yet, so slow introductions would be important in those situations.

He is very affectionate and can be a bit clingy — in the best way. Prince truly bonds to his people and enjoys being near them as much as possible. If you’re looking for a devoted companion, he’s your guy. Prince is still learning about the world and can be vocal when people walk by or enter the home. Living on a corner with lots of foot traffic has given him plenty to “monitor,” and he tends to move from window to window barking at passersby. He does settle with guidance, but he will need continued training to build confidence and reduce his alert barking.

There was one instance where Prince reacted growly toward an older male visitor and did not fully settle during that interaction. This has been the only time he has reacted that way, but it suggests he may need slow, positive introductions to new people — especially unfamiliar men. With structure and reassurance, Prince has shown he can relax. Prince would do best in a home committed to continuing his training and helping him feel secure. He’s young, eager to learn, and very responsive to his people. With consistency and leadership, he will continue to grow into a confident and wonderful companion

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, the first thing to do is submit an application for approval. All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the rescue location as it is a privately run boarding, training & grooming facility. Individual meet and greets are scheduled by appointment only for approved adopters.

MBR Farm is offering ONE Free Private Training session for dogs adopted from us in the month of March. That is a $125 value. Any additional session will be discounted to $80 per private session for an unlimited amount of sessions. No limit, no time limit.

Your first session must be completed before May 1, 2026.
