Prince's Story

Prince wears his name well. He is a blue and white Bully mix, around 3 years old and roughly 60 pounds, with a smile so constant our volunteers have trouble getting a photo where he is not mid grin. He is a solid, huggable boy with a gray mask, a white blaze, and the kind of face that makes strangers stop and say hello.<br/>He is every bit as sweet as he looks. Prince is friendly with other dogs, seems to be cat friendly, and would do well with kids, which is a rare full house resume. He greets everyone like an old friend, sits close for attention, and turns every walk into a celebration.<br/>Prince is at his happiest when he is with his people, so he is looking for a family who wants a devoted, easygoing companion for couch time, backyard hangs, and neighborhood strolls.<br/>Royalty is waiting at Petersburg Animal Care and Control. Petersburg Animal Care & Control's Adoption Policy

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Petersburg Animal Care & Control! We’re so glad you’re considering giving a shelter pet a loving home. We do not charge an adoption fee; however, all animals must be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, and the cost of the procedure is covered by the adopter. We’re happy to support adopters by coordinating appointments with our low-cost veterinary partners for spay/neuter services and other basic care needs. Adoption Process • We prefer to schedule appointments for meet-and-greets to ensure that staff or volunteers are available to spend adequate time helping you get to know the animal. • When you arrive, please sign in and wait to be escorted by a staff member or volunteer before entering the kennel areas. • For safety reasons, please do not reach into kennels or attempt to touch animals through barriers. If you’re interested in a particular pet, our team will bring them to a meet-and-greet area for proper introductions. • After your visit, you’re welcome to submit an adoption application. Applications must be approved before we can schedule a meet-and-greet with your family pets. • Meet-and-greets with personal pets are by appointment only, and for safety, two staff members must be present to handle all animals involved. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to make each match the best fit possible — both for our animals and their future families.
