Poppy was picked up by animal control while roaming the busy streets of Houston, Texas, with no shelter, no food, and no one looking out for her. She ended up at an overcrowded city shelter, where families passed her by again and again. As time ran out and her future became uncertain, a foster family stepped up just in time and gave her the chance she deserved.

It has now been over a year, and Poppy is still waiting for her forever home.

Poppy absolutely loves people and greets everyone like a long-lost friend. She currently lives in an apartment with another dog and does very well. When her foster dad is at work or away, she rests peacefully in her kennel. She is house-trained and does not chew or destroy things around the home.

She loves staying active. Her foster dad takes her on regular walks and to the local dog park, where she has made lots of dog friends. She enjoys running, playing chase, and soaking up every bit of fun she can. She also rides great in the car.

Poppy has met children and done well, but because of her energy level, we think she would do best in a home with older children, around 12 years and up.

She has the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate sweetness, and she is more than ready to start her next chapter with a family of her own.

Health Information:

* Fully vetted
* Spayed
* Microchipped
* Up to date on vaccines, heartworm prevention, and flea/tick prevention
* Comes with a health certificate prior to transport

Poppy is currently in Texas and is available for transport.
