She is an active, young senior.

Pixie takes her dachshund traits to the fullest. She wants attention. And she will push and boss to be sure she gets what she wants. If you asked her, she would tell you her name was Queen Pixie.

Pixie is friendly with humans. She will pull on her leash and jump on strangers just to get attention and pets. You know you can't resist.

Pixie can be adopted to a first-time, active adopter who understands dachshund stubbornness and is willing to work on her manners and training.

In a multi-dog environment Pixie is looking for humans that are savvy with managing multiple dogs in a home and ideally have dachshund ownership experience.

Pixie will thrive in a home with rules and structure. She is a very smart dog. Pixie can learn things easily with humans that are committed and willing to teach her.

Pixie has "diabetes insipidus". It is NOT normal diabetes. It is a disease that if left unmanaged, causes her to drink and urinate excessively.

Pixie's disease has gotten under impeccable. control with the experience of our vet. Pixie requires eye drops multiple times a day to keep it managed. It's easy peasy to do.

Pixie is up to date on vaccinations and current on flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives.

Pixie needs to live in a home with a solid routine and structure. She cannot live children. She can live with other dogs as long as her humans are multi-dog ownership experienced.

If you are looking for a joyful gal that promises to make you laugh and exuberantly share her love and affection for you, then Pixie is your girl.

Pixie can be adopted into a home within a two-hour radius of Pittsburgh, PA.
