Pixie's Story
Meet Pixie - A Resilient Little Lady Ready for Her Forever Home

Pixie is a sweet senior Dachshund whose journey with us began at the Stark County Dog Warden-and what a journey it has been.

When she arrived, Pixie was facing severe dental disease, large mammary masses, and a heart murmur. Despite it all, she remained gentle, trusting, and full of love. She underwent extensive, lifesaving surgery, including a full-mouth extraction, removal of her mammary masses, and a spay where early pyometra was discovered. Shortly after, she required a second surgery due to a jaw fracture caused by her advanced dental disease.

Through everything, Pixie has been nothing short of incredible.

Now recovering in a loving foster home, Pixie is doing well and ready to find her forever family. She's a true "Velcro dog" who loves being close to her people-snuggling under the covers, lounging on the couch, and soaking up all the love. She enjoys car rides, walks nicely on a leash, and never says no to treats (especially bananas!).

Pixie does well with children and visitors and would likely do best with male or submissive female dogs. She hasn't been tested with cats. Her adorable little nose is just a genetic quirk and doesn't affect her at all.

Pixie still has some healing ahead, but she's already on her way. Now she just needs a home where she can be loved and cherished through her golden years.

If you've ever considered a senior dog, Pixie is a perfect reminder of how much love they have left to give.

We do require that all pets in applicants home are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccine series, and heartworm prevention.

Apply at www.pawsitivehope.org. To speed up the application process, please send vaccine records and verification of heartworm prevention of current pets to adoptions@pawsitivehope.org.
In addition, please call your veterinarian to give approval for us to contact them about current pets medical care.
