Meet Pixie

Pixie is cute as a button and a very affectionate four year old, 20 pound JRT.

She will do best as an “only dog”, as she has not been socialized with other pets, and is known to be aggressive with smaller dogs. However, Pixie is quite content to be cuddled as closely as possible with her humans. If she is not with her people, she will likely be found basking in any sunlight she can find.

Pixie is a rare lower maintenance Jack. She is 100% house trained. She does her business on command outdoors and is especially fast in colder weather! She has shown no destructive tendencies, either inside or outdoors. She rarely barks, even when someone comes to the door.

Further, Pixie is a lower energy Jack. While she enjoys a long run, she is also satisfied with a short walk or a backyard adventure. She is “self-exercising” if she needs to be, adorably running out her “zoomies” either inside or outdoors.

Finally, Pixie is completely crate trained and favours it for sleeping. She loves her “beauty sleeps”, preferring to retire early and sleep in late!

Pixie is unreliable with children; therefore a mature home is advised. An active "Jack wise" single person or couple is also recommended, as Pixie resource guards, dislikes her feet being dried and will complain if “over-petted” especially in the evenings, when she is tired.

She is obedient and tries to please, but still needs leash training. She gets excited for her walks, forgetting not to pull.

When Pixie was initially adjusting to her new foster home a few months ago, she became frightened and nipped 3 times. She has become more trusting and is being given a reasonably priced Vet-advised medication, both of which have calmed her. Discontinuing this med can be considered in her forever home.

Pixie has been spayed, microchipped and is up-to-date on vaccines. She is being lovingly fostered in LONDON, ONTARIO and her adoption fee is $450.
