Pinto Bean Miniature Pinscher & Chihuahua Mix Rochester, MN

This little fella is just the sweetest boy!

Mr. Pinto Bean is a 2-year-old chihuahua-miniature-pinscher(-plus?) mix. He is a smart, loyal, curious, affectionate (but not super licky), happy-go-lucky dog. He can be stubborn but is very food motivated and learns quickly with the assistance of treats. He is good with cats, other dogs (including doggie day care), and new people (including kids, per his previous home), and he loves squeaker toys and cuddling best. We are currently gently working on crate training, and leashed walking etiquette. He is leash-trained but has trouble resisting the siren call of squirrels and potential new friends! At night, he prefers sleeping in a tight coil by his favorite human and will stay there until you get up in the morning - except perhaps to make sure you’re safe during nighttime bathroom breaks. He will do best in a family where he can be a constant companion, running errands (omg, a car ride?!?), meeting new friends, and reporting on the nefarious plots of the neighborhood squirrels. This bright young man just earned a clean bill of health and microchip and is ready for his Furever home adventures to begin!

In my role as his foster, I am happy to teach you the commands he knows, provide resources for continuing crate training for those occasions when he can’t come along, and a Tractive tracker for peace of mind, and sleep and activity tracking. You will receive all his toys, his harness and leash, 2 collars (one sporting a light for nighttime romps outside), a dog bed, a food dish, a sweater for extra chilly days, a food storage box with capacity for 8 pounds of his favorite food (a mix of Purina pro plan and hills science diet mini bites), training treats, a dental chew (with a replacement for whenever he gets through the first!), and stick treats for good measure. I personally recommend a pet fountain for a fresh flowing water source, but he also happily drinks out of traditional water bowls

Pinto Bean has been completely vetted and is ready to be adopted. The adoption fee is $350 + MN sales tax.

- Small Dog Rescue of MN does not negotiate the adoption fee on our dogs and we must charge sales tax on all adoption fees in order to comply with Minnesota state law. Please note that SDR is philosophically opposed to the idea of buying and selling animals, and we support any future legislation that would remove sales tax from adoption fees. Until then, however, it must be charged.
