Pilar Basenji & Hound Mix Cary, NC

I am not great at bragging about myself, but I do want you to know about me because I sure would like a home. I have been to the doggie Dr. I got surgery, and they stuck me with needles to keep me healthy, then I ate some chalky stuff so I wouldn't have worms, not sure what that is but I did it. I liked the Dr. They said I am all current and spayed whatever that means, they said I didn't need to worry about that stuff that humans would always take care of that, so I trust. I was 10 months old in February, and I am currently 29 pounds and the Dr said that other than normal weight gain I won't get bigger, that's good because I like snuggling.
I want a home that like me is loyal and would never let me go, I will always love you and be there for you and it sure would be nice to have that also. I was born on an island called Puerto Rico. I didn't know my dad and my mom took care of me as long as she could, I don't know where she went to live but I hope it is with a wonderful family. I got to stay with one of my sisters, Esther, and we are great friends, but we know that we will not get to live together in our forever homes but maybe we will be lucky enough to see one another somewhere in the future. We both know that when we hang together that we tend to get wrapped up in one another and don't listen well to our humans. We also want to be able to give all our love to our forever home.
I love to play with toys, and I am working very hard to learn what toys are and what is not. I love my foster mom's shoes and socks because they remind me of her, but she says I can't chew those! So, I will stop doing that. I really like my crate, she calls it my house, I humor her since I heard them call it a crate when they brought it in. My bed is soft and smells good and I get in anytime she asks me. I get to chew my hard filled bone when I am in there, I sleep so well and I don't cry and I wait patiently until she wakes up to let me go outside for my morning business, I am very smart! She is teaching me things that she said will keep me safe and help my forever home, so I am working hard to learn these things. I have my SIT, COME and I stopped being in a hurry on a leash, it's HARD, but I have learned to walk slower so she can keep up...she has short legs! I have more to learn, and I work every day. I will work hard with my forever home to learn more, I promise!
I really like Camp, the place I stay sometimes and play with my sister and other dogs, and it is where we can also go to meet someone that may want to make me part of their family.
