Pierre's Story

Bonjour, I’m Pierre! I’m a dapper 12-year-old Poodle mix boy weighing in at about 10 pounds of pure charm. I was found as a stray and ended up in a local shelter, but those days are behind me now — I’ve discovered the good life and I am NOT looking back.

When I arrived, I was a little thin, but I’ve been eating four small meals a day like the refined gentleman I am, and I’m filling out beautifully, thank you very much. I’m also learning to walk on a leash and getting better every single day — slow and steady wins the race, and I am absolutely winning. I’ve met lots of little dogs in the neighborhood and we get along famously, and I even held my own with a big dog once — lots of very important sniffing was done.

Now, I do have cataracts, so I bump into things occasionally, but honestly I navigate my foster home like a pro and it barely slows me down. What I may lack in perfect vision I more than make up for in personality and love. I am a LOVER of people — kids, adults, everyone. The neighborhood kids know to approach me slowly, and then it’s all kisses and cuddles from there.

I am a certified lap dog. Working from home? I’m on your lap. Watching TV? Right beside you. I sleep in my crate at night like a good boy, but mornings mean snuggle time in the big bed and that is my favorite part of the day. Oh, and I am completely house trained — I actually let my foster mom know when I need to go out. A gentleman through and through.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loving senior boy who will be your constant companion and your heart dog, I am your guy. This older gent has so much love left to give!

Apply to adopt me at www.floridacockerrescue.org
ADOPTION FEE: $195
