Picosso is an 8-pound blind Min Pin with a huge personality, very strong opinions, and absolutely no interest in pretending to be a dog he isn’t.<br/><br/>He does not like being picked up.<br/><br/>Actually, “does not like” is putting it mildly.<br/><br/>If you try to lift Picosso, he will growl, snap, and make his feelings about the situation extremely clear. Because he is completely blind, he has a hard time accurately connecting when he snaps, but his message is still the same: please put me down and respect my space.<br/><br/>Picosso lives in a world he cannot see, so having control over his body and knowing what is happening around him matters tremendously to him.<br/><br/>Once he learns the layout of a home, though, you would almost forget he is blind.<br/><br/>He will strut around like he owns the place, navigating rooms without bumping into a single thing. He learns where everything is incredibly quickly and becomes surprisingly independent once he feels comfortable in his environment.<br/><br/>And if you need him to come somewhere?<br/><br/>Call his name.<br/><br/>Picosso will come running toward your voice, which has become one of the easiest ways to guide him through the house without physically handling him.<br/><br/>Affection with Picosso also happens on his terms.<br/><br/>Once he knows you and realizes you are someone who will respect his boundaries, he will happily accept ear scratches and head rubs. Never too much at once. Never because you decided it was cuddle time. But when he wants affection, he enjoys it.<br/><br/>You might even earn an occasional foot lick.<br/><br/>One of the funniest things about getting to know Picosso is learning that he actually has two completely different growls.<br/><br/>One is his little background growl. Low, soft, and steady. He sometimes makes it while being scratched, when you say his name, or even when he seems perfectly content. It is almost his way of talking.<br/><br/>Then there is the other growl.<br/><br/>That one starts low and gets progressively louder. His lips begin to curl. Teeth appear. And if you continue ignoring what he is telling you, he will air snap.<br/><br/>There is a very clear difference between the two.<br/><br/>The important part of loving Picosso is learning to listen.<br/><br/>He communicates exactly what he is comfortable with, and he needs an adopter who does not take those boundaries personally.<br/><br/>Picosso is probably never going to be the dog you scoop into your arms and carry around the house.<br/><br/>He probably will not spend Sunday afternoon curled against your chest on the couch.<br/><br/>He is not going to become a different dog because someone loves him enough.<br/><br/>And we aren't looking for someone who needs him to.<br/><br/>We are looking for someone who understands Min Pins, respects a dog's autonomy, has patience, and finds something endearing about a tiny blind man marching through the house as though the mortgage is in his name.<br/><br/>Because underneath the grumbling is a dog who still wants connection.<br/><br/>He wants to know where you are.<br/><br/>He will run toward your voice.<br/><br/>He will let you scratch his head when he trusts you.<br/><br/>He will quietly exist beside you without needing constant interaction.<br/><br/>And while humans sometimes overwhelm him, Picosso absolutely loves other animals. Grumpy. Independent. Opinionated. Occasionally affectionate.
