Pickles's Story

Grab a tissue, this poor beautiful girl was dumped in a wildlife reserve with two other Aussies to fend for themselves. While we can't imagine why anyone would do this, as it is incredibly insensitive and cowardly. Regardless of the pure distaste that a human can do to a helpless animal, this girl has shown and proved to us that she has so much love to give. Not only has Pickles been saved, she wants to save you!

Meet Pickles!! A beautiful blue merle girl, a stunning mini version of an Australian Shepherd, weighing in at 27.8 lbs, but putting some weight on after being malnourished, approximately 5-6 years old (estimated) and looking to be loved. This girl wants to please and has a smile on her face at all times. So far, she has been an absolute gem, she has kept her kennel clean and has been looking to gain attention at all times. And just wants to wiggle into your heart. She is good with other dogs. Her leash skills are coming along, and she is ready to meet the world. She has some upcoming dental needs yet but is ready to start looking for her new home. Pickles has since been spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Pickles is available for adoption.

Fine Print: All dogs of NWMNAR are screened at the headquarters in Ada, Mn until they are vetted. They are then transferred to foster homes throughout MN and some into ND so they can get used to lifestyles with a family in a home. Adoption fee for an adult dog is $300 + Mn tax. Adoption fee for a dog over 3 years of age is $300 + Mn tax., pup/dog1 year to 3 years is $400 + Mn tax. Under 1 year of age $500 + Mn tax.

Free adoption applications can be found on our website at: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/NMA/Dog.

Because NWMNAR is not a public shelter, meet and greets do not take place until an application has been approved and a home visit has been completed in person or virtually. Meet and greets will take place in a public setting along with the adoption if compatible. Dogs can be met in Ada, MN weekday and weekends, or in our alternate office location in Maple Grove, MN on weekends only.

Once we receive your submission, our application review team will be in touch with you. Please have patience while they look over your application.
