Pickles's Story

Meet Pickles! If you had met her the day she arrived at our rescue, you might not have recognized the bright, joyful girl she is today. Pickles came to us barely more than a shadow of a dog — painfully thin, exhausted, and carrying the quiet weight of neglect no animal should ever endure. Her fragile body told a story of hunger and heartbreak. It was hard to imagine then that this starving pup would one day shine the way she does now. But she does.
Today, Pickles is a healthy, beautiful 40-pound pittie mix with bright eyes, strong legs, and a spirit that refuses to quit. Her ribs are no longer visible. Her tail wags constantly. She runs outside with confidence. She plays like she’s making up for lost time — tossing toys in the air, rolling herself up in blankets, and happily accepting treats with pure gratitude.
And that gratitude? You feel it. Pickles knows she’s safe now. She knows she’s loved. She wakes up every day thankful for this second chance. She truly is the total package—great with other dogs and cats.
Pickles would do best in a home with older children, as she can get a little enthusiastic during playtime and is still learning to keep her excitement appropriately gentle. With structure and continued guidance, she does wonderfully and just loves being part of the fun.
Pickles is doing well with potty training and loves going outside. She’s food motivated (which makes her fun to train!) but not food aggressive at all. There isn’t a mean bone in this girl. She’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, and still playful and silly. She loves toys, cozy blankets, and being near her people.
Pickles does have some allergies and receives Cytopoint every six weeks to keep her comfortable and itch-free. Regular baths help her skin too. It’s a simple routine that keeps her feeling her best — and she’s absolutely worth it. She recently had a dental with a few extractions and handled it like a champ. Strong, resilient, and always moving forward — that’s our girl.
Pickles has already done the hard part. She survived. She healed. She learned how to trust again. Now she’s ready for the best chapter of her life — a forever family who will love and cherish her the way she always deserved.
If you’re looking for a grateful heart, a loving companion, and a best friend who will never take you for granted, Pickles is waiting. She is around 5 years old.

Adoption application can be found at this link- https://airtable.com/shrAznkHf1ruIqQwq
