He has never lived in a home, so he has no idea yet what it means to be a family dog. He isn't housebroken, and he has never experienced walking on a leash. The sights, sounds, routines, and comforts of a home are all completely new to him.

Picasso is a very sweet boy, but he is also understandably shy. He will need time to take everything in and learn that his new life is safe. His adopter will need to be patient and willing to let him adjust at his own pace rather than expecting him to immediately know how to be a companion.

A confident, friendly dog in the home is required for Picasso. Having a canine friend to follow and learn from will help him understand this strange new world and give him the confidence to try new things.

He will also need a securely fenced yard. Since Picasso has never walked on a leash, a fenced yard will give him a safe place to explore and begin building confidence without putting him in a situation he isn't ready for.

There will be a learning curve with Picasso, but watching him discover all the things he has been missing will be incredibly rewarding. The first time he confidently explores a room. The first time he follows his person around. The first time he realizes that a soft bed, gentle hands, and a loving family are his.

Those moments will be priceless.

10/1- While having all but two canine teeth removed today sounds like a major shift, it is actually the best news possible for his comfort and health. Dogs are incredibly resilient and do amazingly well with very few (or even zero!) teeth. He is going to feel like a completely new dog once his gums heal. He’s healthier, happier, and his smile is just as much of a masterpiece as his name promises.

ADOPTION FEE: $750

To adopt the FIRST STEP is to complete an APPLICATION at fluffydog.net

Adopters must be 24 years of age.
