Philly is one of those dogs that instantly pull at the heartstrings. A county field officer came across Philly lying underneath a truck. Philly was motionless at first, but once he realized someone was there, his nubbin tail began to wag. Philly is estimated to be 10 years old and he is a 56-pound Australian Cattle Dog mix. County delivered Philly to Home Fur Good to find his forever home. Similar to his actions at county, Philly is hesitant to walk on a leash at Home Fur Good. The underlying reasons are still being researched. Philly is overweight, and he may be in discomfort when he walks. He is unsure on his legs, and the slippery floor may be intimidating for him. Philly may not have all his sight and hearing, making him unsure about where he is being led. Picking him up may also cause him discomfort. One thing that has never changed: if Philly senses you are there, his little nubbin tail keeps on wagging. He seems to enjoy lying next to you and soaking up the gentle pets. His forever home will be one committed to giving him a healthy diet and helping him to shed a few pounds. With some weight loss and TLC, some spunk may come back into his life. Philly is no spring chicken, but his love knows no age. The adoption fee is $150 and includes spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
