Petunia's Story

ATTENTION: All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs. If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application. We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt.

// // Meet Petunia! Petunia is an adorable 1 year old, 16-pound Pug/Chihuahua mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for her people. Her favorite place in the world is right by your side, whether that's curled up on the couch, at a café, exploring the park, or watching the sunset. Petunia loves everyone she meets (kids included), gets along great with other dogs, and is a cat's dream roommate because she happily ignores them. She would thrive as an apartment dog, but she would also make the perfect pocket sized adventure buddy. She's potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and already knows "sit" and "down." She's currently learning "place" and is picking it up quickly. Petunia is smart, eager to learn, and highly food motivated, which makes training both easy and fun. Petunia sleeps in her crate every night with minimal protest and is doing well with crate training. However, she does struggle with separation anxiety and her future adopter should be prepared to continue working with her on it. She becomes very upset when left alone and will cry and whine when her person leaves. She is currently crated when left alone and, while it can take her some time to settle, she does eventually calm down. Petunia will do best with someone who is patient, understanding, and willing to help her continue building confidence when she's on her own. Petunia is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow who wants to be part of everything you do, Petunia might be your perfect match. Her adoption fee is $300.

All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.

Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog.
