Petey

Gorgeous little Petey was spotted alone in a remote orchard in the Central Valley, far from towns or homes. His wonderful rescuer sent a trapper to get him. He was matted, scared, hungry and thirsty.<br/><br/>We guess him to be about 5 or 6 years old and hes a little guy, just 8 pounds. He wags his tail when we enter the shelter but hes nervous to ask for affection. <br/><br/>Petey will need a patient loving home with a secure backyard. No exceptions; he needs to be where he can gain confidence at his own pace. We can pet him and pick him up, but it requires some time and a slow, gentle touch. <br/><br/>BUT....!! Petey is worth it. Hes very sweet and he gets along well with the other dogs. He loves to sunbathe and he follows us around in the shelter courtyard.<br/><br/>Petey needs love and patience. Experienced homes preferred.
