Located in Chilliwack BC <br/><br/>Petey is looking for a patient family who can help him continue learning that the world is a safe place. <br/><br/>This little guy came from a hoarding situation and ended up in a shelter, where he was rescued just two days before he was scheduled to be euthanized. We don’t know everything Petey experienced before coming to us, but we do know that he hasn’t had the stability, routine or guidance that most dogs have.<br/><br/>Petey has some incredibly sweet and lovable qualities, but he’s also an insecure little dog who needs time, patience and consistency.<br/><br/>He’s still working on his house training and currently wears a belly band indoors. He can be nervous about being picked up or approached and sometimes doesn’t want to come back inside. New people can also make him uncomfortable, and he may bark or growl when he feels overwhelmed.<br/><br/>We believe Petey would thrive in a quiet, predictable home with an experienced and patient foster, ideally without a lot of people coming and going.<br/>He’s a little dog who simply hasn’t learned yet what life in a safe, loving home is supposed to look like. <br/><br/>Petey needs someone willing to give him routine, positive reinforcement and the time to build trust at his own pace.
