Percy - Special Circumstances Adoption Program's Story

Meet Percy

Percy is a 3-year-old neutered Pomsky with a gentle soul and a heart that's learning how to trust. He may not be the dog who rushes up to greet you on day one, but for the person willing to move at his pace, Percy has so much love to give.

When Percy first arrived in care, the world felt like a pretty overwhelming place. He's a timid, reserved little guy who needs time, patience, and understanding before he feels safe enough to let his personality shine. But once you've earned his trust, you'll discover a sweet companion who gently takes treats from your hand, enjoys sleeping on the floor beside your bed, and loves spending time with his canine friends.

Percy has a medium energy level and especially enjoys running around in a securely fenced yard and playing with dogs his own size. In fact, Percy is looking for a home with a friendly companion dog around his age who can help show him the ropes and give him the confidence that only another dog can provide.

Because Percy is still building confidence, he will need a quiet home with patient adopters who understand that trust cannot be rushed. He isn't ready for a busy household or young children, and leash training will need to wait until he feels safe and comfortable with his people. The key to Percy's success is simple: slow, steady progress and allowing him to make choices at his own pace.

- Percy may not greet you at the door on day one.
- He may need weeks or even months before he fully settles in.
- He may never be a social butterfly.

But Percy deserves a family just as much as any other dog.

Every day, Percy takes small steps forward and learns that people can be kind and the world can be a safe place. For the right adopter, helping a dog like Percy discover trust is one of the most rewarding journeys imaginable. The bond you build won't happen overnight—but it will be genuine, meaningful, and worth every moment of patience.

The Good Stuff:
- 3 years old
- Neutered male
- House trained
- Loves other dogs
- Enjoys a fenced yard to run and play
- Gentle treat-taker once comfortable
- Sweet, quiet companion
- Sleeps happily near his people

A Few Things to Know:
- Needs a securely fenced yard
- Needs another friendly dog in the home
- Best suited to a quiet home without young children
- Not a fan of being brushed

**Special Circumstances Adoption Program**
Percy is part of our Special Circumstances Adoption Program. These dogs may come with unique challenges due to their past experiences, but they are not broken or beyond help. They simply need patient, understanding adopters willing to let them move at their own pace.
* $300 adoption fee
* Fee refunded in full after completion of the required training program
* Ongoing support from our rescue team

The right home for Percy won't be measured by how quickly he settles in, but by a willingness to let him bloom in his own time.

Some of the most beautiful transformations happen slowly. With patience, understanding, and a little faith, Percy will show you the incredible dog that's waiting beneath his shy exterior.

Could you be the person he's been waiting for?

Apply to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/243494963032258

What's included in your adoption fee?
* At Myrtle Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, every dog adopted comes with:
* Spay/Neuter
* Core vaccines
* Rabies vaccine (age dependent)
* 4DX test for heartworm & tick-borne diseases (age dependent)
* Flea, tick & heartworm prevention
* Parasite treatment
* Dental surgery if recommended by our veterinary partner
* A session with a positive-reinforcement trainer
* 30 days of Trupanion Pet Insurance
* Ongoing support from our team—because adoption is just the beginning

#AdoptPercy #PomskyLove #RescueDog #SpecialCircumstancesDog #SecondChances #RescueDogs #PatientHeartsWin #MARSRescue #ForeverHomeWanted
