Percy is about 2 years old, and he’s already lived a lifetime of hard lessons. He came to us as a stray after being found behind a McDonald’s, desperately eating garbage just to survive. He was painfully thin, literally passing wrappers, and his body was covered in scabs that look like he’d been in a fight or two. Life hasn’t been kind to him — but Percy hasn’t let that dim his spirit.<br/><br/>Despite everything he’s been through, Percy is gentle at heart. He’s shy when he first meets new people, unsure if he’s safe, but once he realizes you’re kind, he blossoms into the sweetest, most affectionate boy. When he trusts you, he leans in for cuddles, melts into your lap, and soaks up every bit of love he can get. He’s a snuggler through and through.<br/><br/>Percy is also learning what it means to be a real dog again. Walks on a leash are still new to him, but he’s trying his best and improving every day. Playtime is becoming one of his favorite things, especially when he’s with someone he feels comfortable around.<br/><br/>Percy is looking for a patient, loving home that will help him continue healing — physically and emotionally.
