Pepper's Story

Pepper: Sweet, Smart, and Ready to Play!

Pepper is an adorable young lady who found herself at the shelter through no fault of her own. Her family loved her very much, but life circumstances made it impossible for them to keep her. As she adjusts to all the changes, Pepper is slowly settling into her new surroundings and showing us what a wonderful companion she can be.

This sweet girl has previously lived with children, a dog, and a cat and did wonderfully with all of them. She loves to snuggle with her people, chase after a ball, and spend time being part of the family.

Pepper's one quirk is that she absolutely loves food. In fact, she loves it so much that she prefers not to share! Because of this, her adopters will need to manage meal times carefully and keep her separate when food is involved. She may do best in a home with older children and no dogs, or with a family committed to safely managing her food-related behavior.

Pepper is almost completely potty trained and was able to free roam her previous home with very few issues. Her biggest temptation? The trash can! Keep tasty treasures out of reach, and she's a pretty easy housemate.

As a herding breed, Pepper is looking for an active adopter who understands the importance of both physical exercise and mental enrichment. A bored herding dog can quickly become a frustrated herding dog, so she'll thrive with plenty of walks, playtime, training, and opportunities to use her brain.

One of Pepper's favorite things in the world is playing with waffle balls. She would be thrilled to find a family willing to keep her stocked up so she can toss, chase, and fling them around to her heart's content!

Pepper is especially fond of women and may need a little extra time and patience to warm up to men, but once she trusts you, you'll have a loyal and loving best friend for life.

If you're looking for a smart, affectionate, ball-loving companion who's ready for adventures, cuddles, and plenty of playtime, Pepper can't wait to meet you!
