Pepper's Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Little Pepper is in NJ and is available for foster or adoption.

Meet Pepper!

This adorable 41⁄2-year-old Shih Tzu–Poodle mix is about 10 pounds of pure sweetness and spunk! Don’t be fooled by her petite frame — Pepper’s got some serious spring in her step. She’s an impressive little jumper who can easily scale a 4-foot fence, so any future home with a yard will need a secure 6-foot fence to keep her safe.

Pepper came into rescue in rough shape — badly matted — so her current photos show her with a shorter haircut, but normally she’s a fluffy, curly little cloud of a dog! With time, her soft coat will grow back into her natural, adorable puffball look.

She’s crate trained, working on her leash skills, and learning to enjoy her walks more every day. Pepper also loves climbing up to high spots (yes, even countertops and tables!) so her new family will need to make sure anything toxic or tempting is kept out of reach.

When it comes to other dogs, Pepper is friendly and tolerant as long as they give her a little personal space — she’s polite but not a fan of being pestered. She may be a bit shy at first, but once she trusts you, she’s a total lovebug who will leap right into your arms for cuddles.

Because she’s quick and agile, Pepper’s adopter will need to be careful with open doors that lead outside — she’s got a bit of a bolt instinct! When home alone, she does best safely crated.

If you’re looking for a smart, affectionate, funny little companion with a sprinkle of sass and a whole lot of love to give, Pepper might just be your perfect match.

She is up to date on her vaccines and will be altered. Her adoption donation is $4

50.

Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.

How to Adopt Me!

If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to
wag-on-inn.com
.
