Pepper 2026's Story

Loyal and affectionate Pepper is an approximately 4 year-old Boxer who was rescued from a puppy mill. She may have applications in progress, but is currently available.

Pepper had at least 4 litters of puppies as a puppy mill momma. After her final litter, she had a vaginal prolapse and was surrendered. Stop the Suffering made sure she got an emergency spay to resolve her medical needs and placed her in a foster home. Like most puppy mill rescues, Pepper is still learning how to feel safe and comfortable in a new and loving environment.

She is amazed by the TV, seeing the "other Boxer" in a mirror and is very curious about the activities and smells in a house. She has learned how to eat out of a dog bowl and quickly realized she no longer has to worry about when she will get her next meal. She responds positively to a quick firm “No” if she finds something she wants to explore that she should not be playing with.

Pepper is comfortable on her blanket and naps throughout the day. She is not a fan of cold mornings or snow but follows the resident Lab-mix outside and is learning how to potty out in the fenced yard. She is great on a leash and will be a great addition to your daily walks. She is such a quick learner. She has mastered the basement steps that were so scary to her at first and now she runs up and down them. With the right training and socialization, she will make a great addition to a family that loves boxer wags, wiggles and kisses.

Adoption fee is $375 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only.

STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application.
