Penny's Story
Meet Penny! Penny was lovingly surrendered to us due to medical issues her previous family could not manage. After a few months here with us we are happy to say she is stable and thriving! We are now on the search for her forever home!

A little about Penny: She is a 5-year-old Doberman Pinscher with just the funniest personality and a love for tennis balls! She is an energetic girl and will need someone committed to allowing her to get that energy out and also continue teaching her basic manners. She is a highly food motivated girl and with that, our staff have been working daily with her on new commands to set a good foundation for her new home. Penny can be shy at first but once she realizes you are her safe place, her loyalty and love is never-ending. She’s a girl that will thrive with being surrounded by ‘her people’ as much as she possibly can!

We concluded through medical testing that she has an autoimmune disease that will require her to be on daily medication. The good news? She loves taking her meds and is doing WONDERFULLY on them! She still has some weight to pack on but in the short time here with us she’s already gained over 20 pounds!

Penny will need to be the only dog in the house as she does not get alone with her other canine friends. We have not explicitly tested her with cats but she does not seem to mind our free roaming hospital cat when they have been around each other.

Penny is truly something special and is someone our staff has fallen in love with. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Penny might just be your girl! Interested in adopting Penny?
