Penny

Penny is a 6-8 year old Podengo who spent her life up until January 2026 outside in Southeastern MA. She was used for rabbit hunting but her owner realized that he was a little overwhelmed with the amount of dogs so he surrendered a few of them to us. Ginny is ready for an adoptive home or a "foster to adopt home." She will need someone to still crate her overnight and in between potty breaks during the day. She wears a diaper in the house in between potty breaks when she is loose to ensure she doesn't have any accidents in the home. (Watch her video on our Facebook page of her playing with a bone, so cute!) <br/><br/>So far she has done really well but being in a house is all new to her so her new home must be up for treating her almost as though she is a puppy. She walks nicely on a leash but is not the type of dog that can ever be off leash. This breed is very "flighty" so they cannot be off leash or in a position where they could escape the home. If you have a door cracked open or a spot in a fenced yard they could squeeze through, they will find it! They will not return back to you if they are loose, they're off! So, a home that understands that and is OK with that, is a must. She is awesome with cats, dogs and kids.
