Meet Pennies

Pennies
10 month old Doberman

After some much needed time in foster care, Pennies is ready to find her forever family! She is a young Doberman who has a very sweet personality and is full of silly antics. Pennies is true to her breed and possesses many common Doberman traits: anxiety (pacing, enjoys a routine), vocal (barks when excited or frightened, whines), weariness of strangers (with the right approach can warm up quickly to strangers), a strong attachment to her people, and high energy (requires a high level of mental and physical stimulation, short leash walks are not enough for this girl).
With the help of a professional trainer and her foster family, Penny is learning how to be comfortable in her crate when her family is away, and how to greet and play with other dogs. Adopters interested in adopting Penny must be committed to continuing her training as she has a lot of potential and has made good progress.
Penny sleeps quietly in her crate but is an early riser, and lets her family know she is ready for the day’s adventures! Her favourite activity is long walks on forest trails with her foster family. As an adolescent, Penny likes to jump, chew, and play. She responds best to reward based training, and once she has a bond with someone loves praise and affection.
Penny would do best in a home without young children, and as the only pet. She has a very strong prey drive, so cats will not make suitable housemates.  Dog-experienced adopters with another dog will be considered if they are willing to work with dog-dog resource guarding, as Penny highly guards her food, water, and space from other dogs."
Pennies has been vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, spayed, heartworm tested and treated with Advantage Multi.

The adoption fee is $400 and includes spay/neuter (dogs over 6 months), vaccines, heartworm test (dogs over 6 months), deworming, Flea and tick prevention and microchip. Please visit www.paws-united.com to fill out an application.
**For puppies under 6 months a $100 spay/neuter rebate will be given with proof of spay/neuter certificate signed by a vet, if they have not been done prior to adoption.**
**Please note we DO NOT adopt our dogs as outdoor/farm dogs. These dogs are coming to us as stray, roaming or dogs that have lived a life tied to a chain. Our goal is to bring them in the house off the chain and give them a pampered indoor dogs lifestyle. Unless otherwise stated we will not even consider a home that has intentions of leaving our dogs outdoors or tied to a chain**
