Penney's Story
Meet Penney! She is a 3 year old Dachshund/Labrador Retriever mix (maybe with some Welsh Corgi and Chihuahua in there for good measure - she's definitely a Heinz 57!) and currently weighs 30lbs. She's a long hotdog lowrider for sure! Penney and her housemate Brin, came to us after their owner went into a nursing home due to advancing dementia. She is a quiet girl, who is timid at first, but after some cheese, she's your fast friend in a few minutes! Penney loves gentle attention and affection. She's also a champion fetcher and will retrieve a ball for endless amounts of time. Penney will do best in a quiet home with a soft dog bed, playtime in her yard, and run outdoor times on walks. She is not bonded to Brin, but does really blossom in the company of other dogs so we are asking potential adopters to have another dog friendly dog in the home. Homes with teenagers could be a good fit. For more information about how to make Penney your next 4-legged family member, please email her adoption counselor Michelle at michelle.p@poainc.org and complete an adoption application ASAP at www.poainc.org
