She’s beautiful & a love bug. She was walking beautifully on the leash, super friendly & LOVES to give kisses.

5/19/26-Hi everyone, it's me Penny Pen Pen. That's what I call myself. Foster Mom thought I should talk to you myself so, let me tell you about me. I'm a really good girl, i love people, even when I sometimes bark at them. I'm really only saying hi, come pet me, come love on me, come let me take a walk with you. My pictures don't really show off my pretty color, but I'm a rich chocolate color I'm told I am...and who doesn't love chocolate.
I also really love food. Yes I'm a typical Frenchie in that respect. My foster mom loves to add new things to my diet now that I'm at a healthy weight. I love cranberry sauce every day because it's delicious, foster mom says it's good for me for my bladder, I just like it. I love asparagus, broccoli, green beans, peas and carrots, and actually most veggies, so if you have those kind of leftovers, I'm your girl.
I love being outside, both for potty and just lying in the sun, but I also really love snuggling on the sofa or chair with you, and I love belly rubs, my favorite. But if you can't take me for long walks, I'll also use a potty pad and not soil your carpet. When my foster mom says I'm best as an only dog it's because I like to keep all the toys to myself, I love my stuffed toys, big, small, or even regular size, I even entertain myself with them and I promise I can make you laugh when I play with them too.
I love my crate, but I'm good loose in the house as well, I'm really a very good girl.
Okay, foster mom says she needs her phone back, so check back really soon and learn even more about me, and know I'm waiting just for you.

4/26/26-Last time I wrote an update, miss Penny had just started playing with toys.....well she has totally mastered the art and just loves playing with her stuffies. She has yet to destroy a single one. Big ones, small ones, she loves them all. She's introduced them to doing zoomies with them which just simply makes me laugh. She just has so much fun with them.

Penny has also reached her ideal weight, and is a great eater. Also she is very food/treat motivated which has made training with her easier than the normal. She sits and stays well and is crate trained. As soon as she sees me pick up a treat she runs to her crate and can't wait to get in. Some times she gets so excited, she hops up and down on her back legs like a kangaroo when I'm not fast enough getting the door open. Yet if you hand feed her a cookie she's very gentle and lady like.
She's also improved on her reactivity with my dogs which is a great plus, however she doesn't want to share her immediate space with them, but likes knowing where they are and what they are doing & is kept separate by baby gates. I can also pick her up and she has really gotten into belly rubs while holding her and cuddling with her. Miss Penny is ready for her forever home and will love you forever.

4/14/26-Pretty Penny is doing so great and is sparkling this week. She's gained another pound, and has discovered the joy of toys, stuffies are her favorite so far. She runs around the living room with them, and has discovered the joys of making them squeak at the same time. Lol Penny loves to sit with me and cuddle in the chair and going for walks and meeting people. She's really ready to be a part of your life.

3/25/26-Well our little Pretty Penny has made so much progress this last week, and I'm so proud of her. She's gained about 4 much needed pounds and is losing that starvation look of being able to see all her bones though she still needs to gain another 3 to 4 lbs.And this little girl loves to eat, her main food is Natural Balance Duck and Brown rice limited ingredients. She loves the cranberry sauce and the bananas added daily and because she loves these fruits it is also where I hide her pills (antibiotics and pepcid). We also mix in the ground Turkey I cook weekley instead of canned food. Now this girl also likes her veggies I've added, chopped broccoli, green beans, spinach and strawberries. So there is nothing left in her bowl, ever. Yes, spoiled here but Penny knows her 5 star dining will not be expected in her new home. Lol
Her skin has healed up nicely and she has a rich shinny sable brown coat that is so rich to admire and shows how healthy she is now.
Potty training is coming along nicely and she gets to use my back fenced in yard she goes up and down the deck stairs like a pro. When she is taken out to the front yard on a leash she will potty almost immediately and is always ready to come back in and snuggle up to the fire. She is also trained to potty pads if you are not in a position to potty her every 2 or 3 hours. How much more could you ask for?
When it's crate time, she will run to her crate and jumps in, she'll do anything for cookies. Although she's shy and cautious when you first meet her, she warms up quickly with dog cookies. She's definitely a 1 dog home, as although she's improved her attitude with my dogs, it's evident that she isn't interested in wanting to be part of the pack. It took her a full week to start using the dog beds, but now, loves cuddling up and them, and putting her stuffed toys in them. And yes, this week began playing with stuffed toys. So stay tuned and see if Miss Penny would be a good match for you.

3/20/26-My apologies for the delayed update on the beautiful Chocolate brown beauty of a French bulldog Penelope (also known as Pretty Penny). We sprang this girl from one of our favorite shelters where she was picked up as a stray on busy streets, severely under weight, skin infection, and came with no history. She is guestimated as approximately 5 yrs old and although people friendly she's been given some extra time to destress and get spayed, put weight on and settled into a home atmosphere. She's adapting well, though still takes a few minutes to warm up to people, she's very food motivated and after a few treats she becomes your new best friend.
I believe she'd do very well with older children (over 12), or adult home, that understands she hasn't had the best life, as she's also been used for breeding. She can be very reactive towards my dogs, so they can all see each other, it took almost a week to adjust to even being with them in the house. So I really think she needs to be an only dog in her new home.
Pretty Penny is becoming more comfortable, is utterly awesome with getting a bath, and will potty on leash. We are potty training, but if potty pads are down, she will use them.
So think about adding Pretty Penny to your life and check back soon as we learn more about her personality.

3/08/26-Penelope (aka: Penny) is an about 5 year old female French bulldog. She came in from a shelter as a stray that was never claimed. She arrived safely into rescue today thanks to her transport volunteer. Her spay appointment is tomorrow, Monday 3/9/26, & once we get to know Penny & her needs better she will be ready for her new home.
