Hello! My name is Penelope! Location: Chester, MD I'm a sweet, playful, and super smart puppy who is growing fast and having so much fun discovering the world around me! I love running around the yard, chasing my dog friends, and then settling in for some cozy cuddle time. I've got a big personality packed into a little body-and I can't wait to share it with my forever family! I'm searching for... A family who understands puppy life I'm still just a baby, so I shouldn't be left alone for more than about 4 hours right now. I'm doing really well with my crate (I sleep right next to my dog friend and settle quickly after a few seconds of whining), but I still need patience and structure while I grow up. Someone who will help me learn and grow I'm very smart and love treats-so training is right up my alley! I already understand "no" and I'm working on "sit" and "stay." I even respond to little sounds/clicks and will sit politely to be pet. I'd thrive with someone who will keep teaching me and helping me become the best girl I can be. A forever home full of love, play, and snuggles I absolutely love to cuddle and get my ears scratched. After some good playtime (I love wrestling and chasing my dog buddies!), I settle down nicely and am happy to relax with my people. A little more about me... I'm playful, affectionate, and full of personality I love being outside running and playing with other dogs I'm doing great with crate training and sleep well at night I'm very food-motivated and eager to learn I'm doing really well going potty outside I'm curious but calm-I even watched a cat walk by and didn't react! I settle down nicely after my zoomies I'm still a puppy, so sometimes I get a little excited and might nibble for attention-but I'm learning quickly and getting better every day with guidance. Operation Paws for Homes's Adoption Policy

Our organization provides pet adoption services to families located in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Southern Pennsylvania and neighboring states. We believe in responsible adoptions and strive to work with each adopter to find a good match for their home and lifestyle. Our adoption process includes completion of an application, a vet check, an interview, and a personal “meet and greet” where the family can meet and interact with their potential new four-legged family member. Throughout this process, we work to ensure each family and dog are the right fit for each other. We are fortunate to have some wonderful and active volunteers who help OPH find forever homes for over 1,000 dogs and cats a year. The key to that statement is - volunteer! Please remember that our organization is driven by caring individuals who give their personal time to help rescue these animals and provide them with the opportunity to find an amazing future! In addition to adoptions, volunteers carry out education and outreach events throughout the area, and conduct donation drives for our partner shelters in the south. Our goal is to offer a second chance to dogs and cats abandoned in shelters and out of time. Sadly, without our help, some of these adoptable animals would face almost certain euthanasia - sometimes within days of arriving at the shelter. Each year we rescue hundreds of wonderful dogs and cats. We work hard to unite them with forever families who will give them the life and love they deserve. These animals are saved only because of the dedication of our incredible adopters, fosters, donors, and volunteers.
