Her story didn’t start easy. When we rescued her, she was pregnant, starving, and had clearly experienced more hardship than any dog should. She didn’t trust people because people had let her down.<br/><br/>But day by day, with patience, consistency, and love, Penelope learned that not everyone leaves and not everyone throws you away.<br/><br/>Today, she’s a completely different dog. She’s gentle, affectionate, goofy, and loves being close to her people. Despite her size, she truly thinks she’s a lap dog. She’ll make you laugh daily with her silly personality and giant puppy energy.<br/><br/>As an Anatolian mix, Penelope thrives with space to roam, a family to protect, and a purpose. She would do best on property where she can stretch her legs, keep watch, and be the loyal guardian she was born to be. She is other dog friendly but is selective with her friends- her best buddy is another large Pyrenees mix named Moses!<br/><br/>What Penelope wants most isn’t land or livestock, though. It’s a family of her own. A place where she’ll never wonder if she’s being left behind again.<br/><br/>After everything she’s been through, this sweet girl deserves a forever home filled with love, safety, and second chances.
