Penelope's Story
Meet Penelope!

Penelope is a 5–6 month old Pug/Yorkie mix with a gorgeous black and brindle coat and a heart that’s learning just how safe and loved it can be. Currently weighing about 13 pounds, this sweet girl is still growing—both in size and confidence!

Penelope came to Dogworks after being surrendered when another dog in her home attacked her. When she first arrived in foster care, she was understandably scared and unsure of the world around her. Thanks to patience, love, and consistency, she has already made incredible progress—and she continues to blossom more every day.

This affectionate little lady thrives when she’s close to her people. She would do best in a home where someone is around more often than not and is willing to continue helping her build confidence through gentle guidance and positive socialization. Penelope is playful and active, but she’s equally happy curling up beside you for snuggles.

One of her most endearing traits? Every time her people come back inside from outdoors, Penelope greets them with enthusiastic kisses and a wagging tail—like she hasn’t seen them in years. It’s impossible not to smile!

Penelope enjoys playing chase and “kicking” around her tennis balls, and she’s most active later in the day. She walks well on a leash, knows how to sit, is crate trained, and is currently working on perfecting her potty training. She responds well to verbal correction and genuinely wants to please.

She does well with other dogs and cats and has been great with children ages 9 and up. While a fenced yard is preferred, it’s not required. Penelope can be a bit vocal when startled by things like the broom or vacuum, but she quickly settles once she realizes there’s nothing to fear.

Overall, Penelope is a friendly, affectionate, playful girl who loves kisses and wants nothing more than to be near her people. With continued love and reassurance, she will make an incredibly loyal and loving companion.

If you’re looking for a sweet soul to grow alongside your family, Penelope just might be your perfect match.

She will be spayed on January 26, 2026. She is up-to-date on her vaccinations, microchipped and is on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Her adoption fee is $400.

Please follow the link below for her adoption application.
