Pending Adoption - Daisy's Story

Socialization: Daisy is excited, but appropriate with new people. She will go to them with her tail wagging, but does not jump. After a very brief introduction she will wander away and lay down.
Daisy is very good with children of all ages. With small children she approaches slowly.

Training: Daisy will immediately sit upon command. She does not run away, even with an open door or gate. She has good recall and will come running to you. Would benefit from some training on the leash.

Crate trained: Daisy does well in a crate. She has been sleeping in one at night in our bedroom and does not whimper or bark until it is time to go outside in the morning. She likes to go into the crate when storms hit.

Leash trained: Daisy loves to go for walks but has a tough time containing her excitement. She zig zags, nose to the ground, like a typical setter, while walking but does not pull excessively. She is good when other people approach, sitting immediately to get some pets. She's equally as comfortable when other dogs approach and sniff around.

Activity level/requirements: Daisy loves running around the fenced in yard, patrolling for mischievous squirrels and bunnies. In the house she loves to be near humans, relaxing at their feet.

Fence requirements: Daisy has been fine with our 4 ft fence. She has never attempted to jump it or dig under it. At one point the gate was open and she walked through. When called, she quickly came back. A physical fence would be strongly preferred for her

Personality: Daisy loves to be near people. Inside she is calm. Outside she loves to run around but then will be next to her people.
She does get anxious when her people leave. She will bark and howl for a time when alone. She has improved over the last several weeks.

Health history: UTD on vaccinations, is spayed/neutered, microchipped, & on monthly heartworm preventative. Daisy is being treated for a positive Lyme test. She takes her pills very easily.

Foster comments: Daisy is a sweet dog who would do well in a house where someone is often home. She loves being near people and everyone she meets is quickly her friend.
She takes treats very well and eats slowly throughout the day.

Daisy is just a love, she loves her people, their people, their dogs, cats, kids; she's an absolute love.

Foster Location: Warminster, PA

Volunteer transport can be arranged in the Continental US within a 1,000-mile distance between adopters & foster home. If interstate transport is provided for your adopted dog, there will be an additional charge of $75.00 for the required Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI). Typically, we are able to transport your adopted dog to within 2 hours of your home. *Dogs can be adopted outside the 1000-mile transport distance; however, adopters must be willing to either fly their adopted dog, drive to a location within the 1000-mile transport range, or make independent transport arrangements for their adopted dog. Transports to far Western states, from Eastern states, may have additional restrictions.
