*PENDING 12/11/25* Marion, 7 month old Portuguese Water Dog & Mini Australian Shepherd Mix's Story
*PENDING 12/11/25*

New video links:
https://streamable.com/pzz4o8
https://streamable.com/muieqa

Marion is a wonderful older puppy who is the last of her "oops litter". She was set for adoption in July, but due to her brother's parvo diagnosis after adoption in CA we were forced to hold her to make sure she was healthy, and keep her isolated mostly indoors as well. Fortunately, she never became sick!

She looks exactly like a Portuguese Water Dog, with a soft curly brown coat and white patch on her chest. She'll need grooming about once a month, with weekly home trims around her face and eyes.

She is doing great with training, but is still catching up developmentally, as she has had little exposure to parks and strangers. Marion is very eager to please and would do great in a home with a doggie friend, or a human who is retired or works from home. She gets along well with dogs of all ages and breeds so far, and kids as well. (We would suggest kids over 5 years old as she is quite strong for her size.)

What we have learned about Marion:
-unlike many PWDs, she cannot climb fences and has shown little interest in escaping :)
-unlike many PWDs, she does not run away even when given the chance, and prefers to stay near home
-she has a great loud watchdog bark, but only when she hears or sees something unfamiliar
-she LOVES to chew on rope toys and plays really well with doggie friends
-she loves kids
-she wants to learn, and will watch you while walking on a leash, to get visual cues for what to do
-she will need some training with small carpets/mats as she spent a lot of time with puppy potty pads due to her parvo quarantine, and sometimes still looks for squares to use!

Marion is currently 32 pounds and it is possible she will grow a little more over the next 5 months.

She is fully crate-trained (sleeping 10pm to 5am with no breaks) and ready for a forever home in AZ!

---

Video links of Marion:
https://streamable.com/ergmm7
https://streamable.com/ve800a
https://streamable.com/6gm8oo

Marion (formerly Miss Red) is 10 weeks old as of June 26th, 2025.

She has pretty green eyes, and is mostly a deep reddish brown with classic Portuguese white markings on her chin and chest. Her coat is currently wavy/curly. She is a very smart girl who likes to be around people and kids, and is happy to sit on the couch and watch tv after she gets her puppy zoomies out.

This litter of puppies is half Portuguese Water Dog and half Mini Australian Shepherd. We believe they will be 25-35 lbs when fully grown. They have been exposed to kids, cats, and a variety of adults and have had their 1st Parvo and DHPPv puppy shots. Birthday: April 15, 2025.

*We do ask that adopters for this litter be aware, that this mix may require professional grooming, as their coats may change as they grow and are unpredictable at this age. Monthly grooming varies by region but may be up to $80-150/month.*

THEY ARE NOT HYPOALLERGENIC AND THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A HYPOALLERGENIC DOG. Anyone who tells you so is selling you a dog as a product.

---

Please note: All of our puppies will require a spay/neuter contract for final adoption as per Petfinder rules, and we request a simple monthly health update from our adopters, with photos, for the first year. They are NOT available to resellers of any kind, and we are unable to offer transportation outside of the Tucson/Sierra Vista area.

2025 adoption fees include the registered microchip, first 2 dewormings, and 1st round of DHPPv puppy vaccines.
