Meet Pebbles and Gidget

Meet Pebbles and Gidget! This pair of bonded sisters are about 2 years old, about 10 lbs a piece, and look like Chihuahua/Yorkie mixes. In their foster home they are working on house training, have not been crated, and know how to walk on leash. The best of friends, where you'll find one, the other is never far behind. While they get along with other dogs and dog-savvy cats, they truly prefer the company of their humans and one another. Because of this, Pebbles and Gidget are looking for a home where they will be the stars of the show and be the only pets. Described as low energy, they prefer to be snuggled up in a lap or together, enjoy short walks, and playing with toys or one another. They could go to a home with kids 10+ and would be suitable for an apartment.

In addition, adopters should be home for the majority of the day (including post-pandemic) and have a positive reinforcement trainer picked out to enroll their dog with. Force-free training classes/sessions are required for all adopted dogs in order to set them and their new families up for success. Adopters should be prepared to also continue their dog's socialization and experiences with new people, places, and things, as well as expect to help them fine tune any previous training.

Their foster says, "Pebbles and Gidget are a bonded pair of sisters, They look to one another for comfort and confidence. They are just the sweetest! Pebbles is the perfect little lap dog. She wants to be where you are all the time. Wherever she is, Gidget is never far behind. They like cuddles from each other and people. Pebbles hasn't shown any interest in toys but Gidget LOVES them. She will play fetch for ages. She likes soft toys with bells or crinkle paper and anything with a squeaker. Because they are a bonded pair and both like quite a bit of attention, they would do best in a home with little to no other animals. They are fine on leash and enjoy being outside but don't require a fenced yard."

They are available for direct adoption with an approved adopter in North Dartmouth, MA on March 19th. Please fill out an application at www.browndogcoalition.com/adoption.
