COURTESY POST: PEARL<br/><br/>Meet Pearl, an approximately 5-year-old, 65 lb. black and tan Doberman in Johnstown, PA, looking for a new home.<br/><br/>Pearl didn’t have the easiest start. Before coming to her current family, she reportedly spent much of her time living in a barn. She arrived thin and dirty, didn’t know her name, and really didn’t seem to know much about being a dog. Eight months later, Pearl has discovered the good life and has turned into the Velcro Doberman we all know and love.<br/><br/>Pearl is sweet, affectionate, eager to please, and very food motivated. She loves<br/>attention, walks nicely on a harness and leash, rides well in the car, and is crate trained. She’s also completely obsessed with tennis balls. She’ll happily chase one. Bringing it back is apparently a separate skill she hasn’t found necessary to learn yet.<br/><br/>She currently lives with a male Golden Retriever, and the two love to wrestle and play. Another easygoing male dog may be a good match with slow introductions.<br/><br/>Pearl does have a high prey drive and cannot live with cats or small dogs. Despite her family’s efforts to safely manage everyone, Pearl actively looks for their cats. Her family loves her and is hoping to find a home where she can have the freedom to simply be part of the family.<br/><br/>Pearl has been friendly with people, and her family reports no human aggression while in their care. She has lived with a 14-year-old but has not been around younger children.
