Peanut's Story

Meet Peanut--

Peanut is a beautiful brindle boy with a whole lot of love to give. Peanut is a healthy, sweet boy with the most beautiful brindle coat (hence the name Peanut Brittle given at intake) and eyes that will capture your heart almost instantly. He has a way of looking at you as though he has so much love inside him he could simply burst. And when that big smile comes out, you can see just how happy he is to feel safe, cared for and loved.

Peanut is so chill and just enjoys being close to his people. Give him his own comfortable space and he is perfectly capable of settling in and making himself at home -- but given the choice, he would much rather sit next you on the couch.

He also seems to enjoy car rides, which makes me think there may be a little adventure buddy hiding inside this handsome boy. Once he is settled into his forever home, I can easily imagine him happily hopping in the car to see where the day takes him.

Peanut does have some weakness in his front left leg, but his "bum flipper" certainly doesn't dampen his spirit. When he is excited and happy to see you, he will absolutely come running! I do think he would benefit from some physical therapy or strengthening work to help him become as comfortable and strong as possible.

Peanut came for a local southern shelter and has been with his foster mom for a short time. for a short time. So we are still learning who he is and what makes him feel most comfortable. His foster mom has previous experience fostering a larger dog with nerve damage, She believe the best and safest placement for Louie Peanut right now would be as the only dog in the home, allowing him time to decompress, build confidence and receive the individual attention he deserves.

The best home for Peanut would be one where he is given the opportunity for basic obedience training and thoughtful, controlled socialization as he continues to settle in. There is so much sweetness in this boy.

Peanut is looking for someone willing to give him the time, security and love to show them just how wonderful he can be. Those eyes say it all -- Peanut is ready to love somebody with his whole heart.

All known information about the animal is listed above.
