Peanut Butter's Story

MEET PEANUT BUTTER!

Peanut Butter is a super sweet and happy 3-year-old, 40lb American Bully who was sadly found as a stray and never reclaimed. Despite her past, this adorable girl has settled into foster care beautifully and continues to blossom more every day as her confidence grows and her personality shines through.

She is both house trained and crate trained, making her an easy addition to a home ready for a loving companion. Peanut Butter absolutely adores being near her people and happily follows her humans from room to room just to be part of the action. While she can be a little shy when first meeting new people, she warms up quickly once she feels safe and comfortable.

Peanut Butter is very food motivated — especially when “T-bone” treats are involved — which makes training both fun and rewarding. She already knows “sit” and is eager to continue learning with a patient family willing to help her build confidence and expand her skills.

One of her favorite things in the world is her basket full of toys. She loves pulling them out one by one to entertain herself and will even bring them over to share with you. Her playful, affectionate personality makes her impossible not to love.

She walks nicely on a leash around the yard, although she has not had much experience with longer walks yet. Peanut Butter has done well with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship. She has not yet been introduced to cats. Because of her gentle nature and occasional shyness, she would do best with older, dog-savvy children who can respect her boundaries and help her continue building confidence.

As a brachycephalic breed, experience with flat-faced dogs is preferred. These breeds can be sensitive to extreme heat and cold and require families that understand their unique needs. Peanut Butter is also not a good fit for tethering and should always be treated as part of the family.

Peanut Butter previously experienced a reaction following a distemper vaccination, so it is advised that any future vaccinations be administered only under the direct supervision of a veterinarian. Because vaccination protocols may need to be modified for her safety, adopters should also understand that Peanut Butter could remain more vulnerable to certain viruses and illnesses that vaccines are designed to help protect against.

If you're looking for a sweet, loyal little shadow with a playful personality and so much love to give, Peanut Butter may be the perfect addition to your family.

Peanut Butter is:
Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies
Dewormed
Heartworm Tested: Negative
Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention
Microchipped
Spayed

ADOPTION FEE: $

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry.

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.

While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.

FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS.
