Saved locally by Animal Control in Connecticut, this sweet little boy was terrified and overwhelmed at the shelter. Thankfully, Fetching Hearts Rescue stepped in to give him the second chance he deserved. Once Peanut settled into a loving foster home, his true personality began to shine, and what a gem he turned out to be!

Peanut has blossomed into a total love bug who adores being close to his people. His favorite place to be is right by your side, whether you're relaxing on the couch, working from home, or settling in for the night. In fact, Peanut loves nothing more than snuggling under the covers with his favorite human and drifting off to sleep feeling safe and loved.

This gentle boy would thrive in a quieter home where he can continue building his confidence and enjoy a peaceful lifestyle. We think older, respectful children would be the best fit, as Peanut appreciates having his personal space honored and would be happiest in a home where he won't be accidentally overwhelmed by younger kids.

One of Peanut's funniest quirks is his love of "chatting" with the animals he sees on TV! Dogs? Cats? They're all fair game for a good conversation. He may bark to let them know he's there, but he settles quickly and seems convinced they're listening to every word.

Peanut is a sweet, loyal companion who is ready to leave his shelter days behind and find a forever family to call his own. If you're looking for a cuddly best friend who will keep your feet warm under the blankets and fill your home with love, Peanut may be the perfect match.

Peanut is ready to meet his forever person. Fetching Hearts Rescue's Adoption Policy
Apply for any of our dogs: https://www.fetchingheartsrescue.org/adoption-form-online Our team of screeners will process you application once received. This process typically takes a couple days to a week. Once processed, you will hear back from one of our team members regarding your approval status & next steps. The next steps typically involve scheduling a meet and greet if the dog is already in the state, or informing you of the transport process, date & what to expect. If all goes well during your meet & greet you will be able to take home your new family member. All meet and greets are held with the intention of adoption, but only if you and the foster agree that the dog is a good match for you and your family. We ask that you come to the meet and greet or transport day with a leash, collar, name tag (even with just your information on it, if you don't know a name yet), water, a few biscuits, and maybe a blanket or bed for the car ride home. If your dog has any special food, toys, a bed etc., the foster or volunteer will provide these to you. They will also have the dog's medical records and will review these with you before handing them off.
