Pawl - Young - Walk only or Privacy Fence Great Pyrenees Indianapolis, IN

Pawl is a young pyr - born in September of 2022. He was surrendered because his owners were unable to contain him. He has since been neutered, which should curtail his desire to roam. He has a beautiful partial blue eye, and is a friendly, easy going guy. He does well with other dogs and cats too. The cats may not agree - but he does not chase them or try to harm them. He's a giant love bug who enjoys snuggling with you on the sofa, sitting in a chair, and giving kisses.

Pawl will be placed as an inside pet with outside privileges. You MUST have a 6' securely fenced yard accessible from your home. Invisible fencing does not work with this breed and they will take the shock for the freedom. He is also available to an adult only home as a dog who is walked for exercise and potty time. Great Pyrenees are bred to roam and will create their own territory if not secured, which can led to them being lost, hit by vehicles or shot by people who see them as a threat. The breed is not a good off leash dog, and cannot be trusted to not run away. A Great Pyrenees off leash is a " DisAPyr." We do not place dogs under age 2 with resident dogs of the same sex. As Great Pyrenees mature, they can become more dominant with dogs of the same sex in the household. The resident dog's personality is also taken into consideration too

All of our dogs marked as needing foster homes are also available for adoption. If a dog is listed on this site, it is available. No need to contact us to see if it is, We do require you complete the adoption application prior to meeting a dog.

We also offer a foster to adopt program. You foster the dog, and have first right of refusal on them if an approved application is submitted for them.

In fostering a dog, the dog comes to you fully vetted. and groomed. You provide good quality food, grooming, and we provide the heartworm preventative and medical care, if needed* .(*Based on approval from IGPR.)
