My name is Paula and being polite is the name of my game. I am such a good girl who is looking for my forever family. I love to cuddle up with big or little humans for belly rubs and snuggles. I am good with kids and enjoy being around the family in the house. I sometimes get the zoomies in the evening but often prefer a quiet night of cuddles and snoozing on the dog bed. I do well on the leash and have a very healthy intestinal tract - my foster family says I am very “regular”. I love food - all kinds and will do my best to behave for treats. I am what you could say is food motivated. I am not much for playing with toys but will play fetch for a bit to get out some energy. I have good house manners and have no problem hanging in my crate. However if I am in my crate for a long time an accident or two might happen. I do have a bit of stranger danger when people come into the house that are new to me but I warm up nicely with the proper introduction (oh and treats help too!). I really am just the sweetest love bug around!! I am ready to be your forever dog if you are ready for me!!!

Paula isn’t fond of other dogs so she would fit best in a home where she can be the only dog soaking up all the love and attention.

What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there’s official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance.

Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). Adoption donations are to be made via cash, check, and credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards.

Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption.

We typically have adoption events on Wednesday 5-7pm, Friday 6-8 pm and on Saturday noon to 4pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process.

Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week.
