Patricia Border Terrier & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Oakland, AR

What can we tell you about lovely Patricia that's not evident from her video and photos. She is wonderful example of what can go right when you rescue an abandoned puppy some uncaring human left on the side of the road to die.

She;s been at our sanctuary for nearly four years now. Our vet's initial guesstimate of her age when we found her was about 4 or 5 months in age. We've given her all her needed shots and spayed her. Then we set about gaining her trust.
She acted out the way many neglected, abused dogs do by biting, barking, tearing things up, and being the instigator of many scuffles. Patience, firm loving hands and voice, and (silly as it may sound to you) explaining what her place in the pack was has made all the difference. Today she is a completely different dog, although she still has flashes of mischief now and again.

Patricia has some heeler, border collie and maybe even pit bull in her--it is impossible to determine. She stands 34 inches at the top of her head, is current on shots and weighed 76 pounds at last checkup. She loves being outdoors, in front of the fireplace or a/c - depending on the weather and is a terrific watchdog. She will do best in a home without small children or grandchildren (under ten) as she is very strong and will usually greet you with her full body weight - we call it the Patricia tackle.
