Parker 's Story

Introducing Parker!

Parker is a 4-year-old, 15-pound terrier mix who’s searching for a soft place to land.

Through no fault of his own, Parker came to us when his owner was moving and couldn’t take him along. Now he’s ready for a fresh start… with a family who will love him forever.

One look at Parker and you’ll notice his adorable underbite! It gives him the most amazing, goofy little smile that will absolutely melt your heart It’s as if he’s proudly showing off how he keeps those pearly whites so nice (we suspect his love for dentastix might have something to do with it!).

When Parker first arrived, he was understandably nervous … after all, being a small dog in a kennel is a big adjustment. But day by day, he’s coming out of his shell and showing us just how sweet he truly is. He loves being carried, enjoys his walks, and happiest of all just being close to his people.

Parker was evaluated by our vet and, while he’s overall a healthy little guy, he does have something called bilateral medial patellar luxation. This means his kneecaps don’t always stay in place, which gives him his signature slightly bow-legged walk. We think it adds to his charm.

Right now, Parker gets around well and isn’t showing signs that it slows him down. His condition can be managed with medication if needed, and our vet is comfortable with how he’s doing at this time. That said, if it progresses in the future, there is a possibility he may need additional veterinary care to correct it.

Parker is a gentle, affectionate boy who longs for companionship. He wants nothing more than to sit beside you, be held, and finally have a calm, loving home where he feels safe and never has to worry about being left behind again.

Parker seems to do well with other dogs and may do well with cats. Because he can be a bit timid at first, Parker would do best with kids who understand how to be gentle and respectful of a dog who just needs a little time to feel comfortable.

Parker truly is one of a kind, with his sweet personality and unique look, he’s ready to be someone’s whole world.

All of our adoptable pets are...
- Spayed or neutered
- Vaccinated
- Blood tested
- Microchipped
- Flea treated & dewormed

You can email us at adopt@whiteoakanimalsafehaven.com or give us a call at 412-672-8901 for more info!
