Parker's Story

Hi, my name is Parker! Best guess is I'm an Aussie or maybe English shepherd mix and I weigh about 65 lbs. I'm neutered, house- and crate-trained, sensitive, and very responsive. I like routine, and I haven’t had a lot of exposure to strangers so new people and dogs make me a little nervous at first. But once I warm up to someone, I love spending time outside with my people, keeping watch over my domain.

My current foster home has a male mini-Aussie and a female Rottweiler. I have previously lived with 3 other dogs and a dog savvy cat. I like to entertain my people and doggy siblings by playing exuberantly with my Jolly Ball. In fact, my favorite thing in life, aside from my chosen person, is my prized Jolly Ball, which I don’t share because it’s mine! But my foster siblings don’t take me too seriously because I generally really like hanging out with them, poking around the yard and racing after the birds and bugs. Also a fact, if you have a garden you want birds to stay out of, I’m your guy!

I’m still a baby at just 16 months old so I have a fair amount of energy. I’m all in for adventures and am easy to travel with, if I may say so myself. I'm not a dog park kind of guy but I would love a big fenced yard of my own. I would also love to go to the beach with you or go hiking in the mountains. I am super smart and I love to learn, so if my forever person is willing to help me build confidence, I may find out I enjoy walks through busy neighborhoods or hanging out at the local dog friendly pub.

I'm working on my manners too. My foster mom says jumping up when I get really excited is not the best way to get attention so I’m trying to temper my enthusiasm. If you’ve read this far and you’re smiling, you should hit me up! I would love to meet you. Although my heart says I want to be your one and only, with some patience and guidance I can warm up to the idea of sharing you with a friendly, tolerant doggy sibling.

If you are interested in adopting Parker, please fill out the application on our website at: https://www.westernaustralianshepherdrescue.com/adoption-application.html.

We schedule meet n greets after a completed application which includes a home visit and reference checks.

Parker is located in Yakima, WA.
