Paddy's Story
Meet Paddy! Paddy is a 6-year-old, approximately 45-lb Lab/Hound mix who loves nothing more than naps on the couch and being close to his people.

His superpowers include having a wonderful, loving temperament, being the ultimate cuddle companion, and bringing lots of personality to everyday life. He's curious and engaged with the world around him-especially when it comes to squirrels and bunnies, which he takes very seriously on walks!

He is still working on a few things. He can get very excited when he spots squirrels or bunnies and will need continued training to stay calm and focused on walks. He's also learning kitchen manners, as he may put his paws up on the counter to investigate if something smells good. While we were initially told he may not do well with other dogs, he hasn't shown any reactivity on walks and often doesn't pay them much attention-but since he hasn't had close interactions yet, he'll need slow, thoughtful introductions to be safe.

Some of his favorite things are cozy couch naps, hanging out with his humans, and keeping a watchful eye on the neighborhood wildlife.

If you're looking for a loving, affectionate dog who will happily snuggle up with you but also keep you entertained with his big personality, he might be your perfect match.

Paddy is currently located in Staten Island, NY. His adoption fee is $500.

To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
