Paddy's Story

Paddy is a mellow, easygoing boy who enjoys the simple things in life like lounging in the yard, soaking up the sunshine, and just being near his people. He’s not one for high-energy adventures and would much rather relax by your side.

He’s especially drawn to male companionship and tends to bond most closely with the men in his life, though he’s still friendly with women. The same goes for his dog friends, Paddy does best with other male dogs.

Paddy is crate-trained and can relax comfortably for several hours, but he also enjoys having the freedom to roam. Recently, he’s discovered a love for his “giggle ball,” and it’s become one of his favorite ways to entertain himself. He’s also very food motivated so he’ll happily work (or charm!) his way into earning a treat.

Like many boxers, Paddy has a stubborn streak and may “drop anchor” when he decides he’s not going anywhere, we think it’s hilarious and it just adds to his personality. Beneath that, he’s a sensitive, soulful boy who looks to his people for reassurance. He loves gentle affection, whether it’s a head pat, a back scratch, or simply leaning into you for comfort.

Because of his sensitive nature, Paddy thrives with calm, positive guidance and a gentle touch.

Paddy is looking for a home where he’ll be loved, understood, and given the time to continue growing into the wonderful boxer he is. In return, he’ll give you unwavering loyalty and a quiet, devoted kind of love.

If you think Paddy might be your perfect match, he’s ready to meet you.

***For more information about this dog and information on how to apply to adopt, please visit www.ncbr.org***

Adoption Process At a Glance.

- Step 1 – Fill out the Adoption Application
- Step 2 – Preliminary Screening by Application Team which includes a Landlord Check (if applicable) and Vet Check
- Step 3 – Meeting with appropriate boxer(s)
- Step 4 – Home Visit
- Step 5 – Adoption Day

Adoption Requirements At a Glance.

* You must be 21 years of age.
* You must have a fenced in yard (exceptions can be made for certain dogs).
* All current pets in the household MUST be spayed/neutered and current on shots (yes, we do call and verify this information).
* Applicants with young children will be required to answer additional questions.
* Applicants that rent must provide landlord contact info.
