Ozzy's Story

Ozzy is an incredibly sweet and gentle German Shepherd with a heart full of love to give. He may be a little shy at first, but once he feels comfortable, he quickly shows just how affectionate and devoted he is. Ozzy loves giving kisses and will even offer you his paw as a way of showing his appreciation—it’s one of his many charming traits.

He is very loyal and obedient, the kind of dog who truly bonds with his person and wants to be by your side through everything. Ozzy is what many call a “velcro dog,” happiest when he’s close to his humans and part of the family. He’s also very smart and picks up on things quickly, whether by watching or being shown, making him a joy to have around.

Ozzy is calm and well-mannered, and he gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes, even very small ones. He has no prey drive and doesn’t react to other dogs barking at him, which speaks to his easygoing and gentle nature. He enjoys meeting new people, going on walks, and soaking up all the belly rubs he can get.

He is fully potty trained and has great house manners, making him an easy addition to a loving home. Ozzy was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas and is now ready to find his forever family—one that will give him the love and security he deserves.

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who will stick by your side through it all, Ozzy might just be your perfect match. 💛

Ozzy is 4 years old, weighs 62 pounds, neutered, microchipped and up to date with all vaccines including heart worm and flea protection. He is ready for his new home! Please open your heart for this sweet soul who wants to be part of your family.

Ozzy is being fostered in Texas, and can travel to any state, and even Canada to the right home.

To adopt our puppies, yards must be fully and adequately fenced. We do not accept invisible or electric fences.

To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application form via www.savesomesouls.com

Ozzy's adoption fee of $400 includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, and Harness.

Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them.

Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank you for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.

Save Some Souls's Adoption Policy
Once a pet is ready for adoption, we place them online. Potential adopters must fill out our application form, which is mandatory before meeting the pup. Once processed, the potential adopters and fosters are connected to share more info about the pup. After the application is approved for meet and greet, the potential adopters coordinate with rescue to meet the pup. For an in person meet, we require a copy of the drivers license to be sent to us for verification. Out of state adopters are able to do a facetime meet with the pup. After the meet, we take notes from our fosters for final decision. If the foster feels the pup and the adopter are a great match, then we move forward with homecheck. Homechecks are in person or via video apps like whatsapp or zoom or facetime, Once all works out, we send our contract and fee invoice, and schedule pick up of the pup, either in person or via transport, if out of state. All our pets are fixed before they are adopted, no exception. If your application is approved for adoption, but it is not appropriate for the pup you applied for, we would offer you the right match or direct you to a more suitable rescue group who may have the right pups for your lifestyle.
