Ozzy's Story
Ozzy lost his owner and his home when his owner had to enter a memory care facility. It is obvious that this little 9# 9.5 year old sweetheart was well loved. He gets along very well with his foster family’s dogs and cats! The foster family would adopt him if they didn’t already have 3 dogs. He loves being with people more than anything and would enjoy cuddling on the couch or walking in the autumn leaves. Ozzy is joining his foster family on his first beach trip soon! He just wants to be with his people! Ozzy would likely do well with respectful kids. He is housetrained and very good natured. Ozzy recently went to a restaurant patio and he slept quietly on the bench while his foster family ate dinner. He is very easy to walk on leash, has great recall and loves to be near you. He would prefer a home where his people are home a lot and where he can sleep on the bed with his owners. He sleeps quietly at the end of the bed. Ozzy does have some mild separation anxiety which is already improving after only 2 weeks in his new foster home. Ozzy loves a soft cozy lap.

Ozzy has diabetes and requires insulin injections every 12 hours. Please read about dog diabetes here: https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951506. We can teach this- Ozzy is easy. He comes with some starter insulin and needles, and plenty of support and instruction. He is not on a special diet. Having diabetes does not slow Ozzy down! Ozzy will need once to twice yearly veterinary visits for his diabetes. He is very stable. His adoption comes with a phone consult with a veterinarian.

The adoption fee is $300 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, de-worming, current flea treatment, current vaccines for their age, and a vet exam. Northwest Animal Companions is an all-volunteer, non-profit foster-home based rescue. 100% of your adoption fee goes to provide for the medical and physical needs of the pets in our care.

Please head to our website to fill out an application prior to sending an inquiry or asking to set up a meeting. (See application at https://www.nwac-oregon.org/dog-application). Once your adoption application is approved, we will contact you to put you in touch with the foster family and volunteer veterinarian to ask any questions and then an in person meeting.
