Ozzy Silky Terrier Mix Campbell, CA

Ozzy is an adorable 2 yr old silky/Australian terrier mix that weighs about 15lbs. We rescued Ozzy from the shelter where he was very scared. He was dirty and his hair was matted. After a visit to the groomer, he looks great now. Ozzy is a very sweet and cuddly doggy that will really bond with his human. However, he is a bit insecure.

Ozzy needs to be the center of attention most of the time, he is just starting to learn to spend a bit of time on his own. He does not appear to have any training. He does not sit or do anything on command and has been stubborn at times. We think that with some training and confidence building he may get more sure of himself.

Ozzy is mostly quiet and only barks if someone comes to the door or he hears another dog bark. He enjoys daily walks and does ok on leash. He is very friendly with people we encounter along the way, but will sometimes bark and lunge at other dogs. Ozzy is currently in foster care with 2 other dogs his size and he is doing fine with them.

He could be an only dog or he could live with another dog, especially a patient one that could help him gain confidence and is willing to share the human attention. He will need grooming every 6-8 weeks. At his vet check, the vet detected a possible irregular heartbeat but a follow up EKG was normal. He also has a floating rib that makes a small bump on his right side but the vet said nothing to worry about. Ozzy is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, crate trained, and almost house trained.

We are looking for an experienced adopter and no children under 10.
Adoption fee is $700.
