Ozzie (Courtesy Listing)'s Story

Meet Ozzie!
Ozzie is a blue merle Queensland Heeler mix with striking black and white markings. He is an affectionate, 1 year-old boy who weighs 45 lbs.

Ozzie is house, crate and leash trained. He knows "sit" and "give paw." He also rides well in a car. This boy is very athletic and intelligent. He responds well to having a schedule and loves to take walks and go on hikes. He has boundless energy and is always ready for an adventure. Yet, he settles well and enjoys his snuggle time with his human.

Ozzie would be happiest with a large grassy, fenced yard where he can run and play. When bored he will dig and needs to be redirected with chew toys. He loves chewing on antlers.

Ozzie does need more training to improve his behavior in other settings. He gets overly excited when he encounters another dog at a park or on a trail, and plays too rough with dogs at the dog park. He is a quiet boy - only barks when he gets excited around other dogs.

Ozzie will jump up on people and has to be told "down."
He means no harm, but he could easily knock down small children or older adults. Otherwise, he is good with adults. It is unknown how he is with children.

Ozzie is a great dog. He is sure to excel with a new owner that is dedicated to giving him continued training and structure. United Animal Friends offers very affordable training with Ozzie's former trainer.
