Ozzie is here because of something he didn't.<br/><br/>Born on December 18, 2023, Ozzie is a stunning purebred Presa Canario who was adopted as a young puppy and spent the last couple of years living the life every dog deserves. Unfortunately, as life sometimes goes, the other dog in the home decided he no longer wanted a canine brother. Through no fault of Ozzie's own, his family made the difficult decision to help him find a new beginning where he can once again thrive.<br/><br/>At his core, Ozzie is exactly what you'd hope for in a companion of this impressive breed—gentle, loyal, affectionate, and incredibly devoted to his people. Once he knows you, he's the kind of dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side. He has a wonderful temperament, listens exceptionally well, and has proven himself to be a respectful and well-mannered gentleman.<br/><br/>Ozzie already knows "Sit," is crate trained, house trained, and enjoys the simple pleasures in life: playing with toys, earning treats, taking car rides, and yes... even bath time! While he can be a little shy when meeting new people, he warms up beautifully with a little patience and quickly shows off his loving personality.<br/><br/>Despite his recent circumstances, Ozzie has historically done well with other dogs, and we do not consider his return to rescue to be a reflection of his behavior. Because of his size and strength, he would do best with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to respectfully interact with a large breed. His history with cats is unknown.<br/><br/>As a Presa Canario, Ozzie is looking for an experienced, active family that appreciates the intelligence, loyalty, and companionship these remarkable dogs offer. A secure physical fenced yard is strongly preferred to safely accommodate his size and exercise needs. He is not a suitable candidate for a tether or invisible fence.<br/><br/>If you've been looking for a gentle giant with a heart every bit as big as he is, Ozzie may just be your perfect match. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE.
